Localista

Localista

A modern event management SaaS for Europe's invite-only events

Project Background

Localista was a contract project I worked on while traveling through France in 2024. The client wanted to create a European alternative to Partiful—a platform specifically designed for managing invite-only events with a focus on branded experiences and professional event management.

Working remotely from various cities across France, I helped build a comprehensive event management platform that addresses the unique needs of European event organizers, from influencers and community builders to PR agencies and brands.

What Makes Localista Different

Unlike traditional event platforms like Eventbrite that focus on public ticket sales, Localista specializes in private, invite-only events. The platform offers:

  • Beautifully branded RSVP pages with no design skills required
  • Personalized email campaigns and automated follow-ups
  • QR code generation for seamless check-ins
  • Comprehensive guest tracking and engagement analytics
  • No account creation required for guests
  • GDPR-compliant data handling for European markets

Target Audience & Use Cases

The platform serves several key user groups in the European market:

Influencers & Content Creators

Need to prove real-world engagement beyond social media metrics and manage event invitations efficiently.

Community-Led Brands

Want to identify their most engaged fans and build organic ambassador relationships.

PR & Events Agencies

Need professional tools for guest management and detailed client reporting.

Community Builders

Require sponsor-ready metrics and organized member management systems.

SaaS Business Model

Localista operates on a freemium SaaS model with multiple tiers designed for different user needs. The platform offers a generous free tier with unlimited events and basic features, scaling up to premium plans with advanced analytics, team collaboration, and custom branding options.

The European focus allows for better GDPR compliance, localized support, and understanding of regional event management needs—something that larger US-based platforms often struggle with.

Technical Contributions

My work on Localista involved building key features of the platform including the event page creation system, guest management workflows, and email automation pipelines. The project required balancing user experience with the complex requirements of European data protection regulations.

Working as a remote contractor while traveling allowed me to contribute to a growing European startup while experiencing the very culture and events that the platform was designed to serve.
