An iOS app for the beloved Argentinian card game Truco
After falling in love with the Argentinian card game Truco, I decided to build a digital version that would let me play with friends anytime, anywhere. Truco is more than just a card gameāit's a cultural experience filled with strategy, bluffing, and social interaction that's deeply rooted in South American tradition.

Truco is a trick-taking card game that originated in Spain but became deeply embedded in Argentinian culture. Played with a 40-card Spanish deck, it's a game of skill, psychology, and social interaction where players bet points on their hands and try to win the majority of three tricks.
What makes Truco special is the betting system (Envido and Truco), the ability to bluff and raise stakes, and the rich tradition of signals and banter between teammates. It's commonly played in partnerships and is as much about reading your opponents as it is about the cards you hold.
The game uses unique card rankings where the Ace of Swords is the highest card, followed by specific sevens and aces in a hierarchy that's quite different from traditional poker or other card games.
