We're all fiddling with these little AI agents that can write a function or answer a question. It's cute. But the real endgame isn't a better autocomplete. The real endgame is the Master Control Program—an AI that doesn't just help you, but manages the entire lifecycle of a project. From spinning up the repo to deploying it to Vercel, the MCP will handle it all.

You won't be coding anymore. You'll be giving directives. "Build me a social network for dogs." "Deploy a version of this app that uses a different database." The AI will have its own agents, its own CLI, its own set of tools. It will be the developer, the project manager, and the sysadmin all rolled into one. Our job will be to have the ideas, and maybe, just maybe, to unplug it when it starts getting a little too smart.
